With Electronic Stimulation Therapy Agona Center of Wellness patients experience relief of pain and the promotion of soft tissue healing.
Tiny amounts of electrical impulses are induced into the tissues around the injury. Where these waves intersect below the surface of the skin, a low-frequency stimulation is created. This promotes the body to secrete endorphins and other natural pain killers to help relieve pain and promote healing of muscles and ligaments.
Most of our patients find Electronic Stimulation Therapy to be extremely beneficial and describe the treatment as a "light massage sensation." This therapy is most often used to aid in reducing the swelling of soft tissues and relieving the pain of ligaments, sprains, muscle strains, and spasms.
Electronic Stimulation also helps reduce atrophy and increase blood flow around the injuries of patients at the Agona Center of Wellness. This accelerates the healing process, and enables our patients to resume their normal activities faster.
